Morgan Smith
Morgan has graduated from Columbia College, Columbia University and Columbia University and the Mannes College of Music. In New York City he was selected as the Seattle Opera "young artist" (1999-2000). He first made his debut as a professional at Seattle Opera in 2001 in Billy Budd. Smith is known as a Seattle favorite, has performed in more than 12 shows, including Don Giovanni in the title role, Silvio and I Pagliacci in I Pagliacci as well Riccardo from I Puritani. He also played Peter Niles, in Mourning Then Alive. Smith frequently performs has made his Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion. He also performed as the North American premier of Detlef Glanert's orchestral adaptation of Brahms' beloved cycle Vier Praludien and Ernste Gesange in The San Antonio Symphony. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, the Requiems by Brahms and Faure and Mozart as well as the masses with the choral works in C Minor as well as G Minor written by Vaughan Williams, Bach's B Minor Mass and numerous Cantatas that include Handel's Messiah, L'Allegro il Penseroso and the Moderato from and Haydn's The Creation, Lord Nelson Mass and Haydn's The Creation are also included as part of the repertoire for concert performances.
